Most garage door springs will break due to the wear and tear of everyday use. Ones that have been installed properly have a life of about 10,000 cycles. One cycle would be the door opening and closing. Consider that you will average at least two cycles a day – and most likely more – and 10,000 doesn’t seem like that big of a number. But can average between 5-15yrs depending of course on how much you use the door
